Rainy Season

when the rains come at last

there is no mistaking what will happen

one person uncovers the cistern

he dug years ago against thirst

another brings out buckets

to place beneath the leaky roof

oh, let me be the one

Who opens windows and unlocks the door

who presses her face against the screen

inhaling the mist like life itself

let me gather my children

to trace raindrop outlines

upon the glass

to clap and dance with joy

for gardens yet to be

and for promises kept

  1. Beautiful Joan — i LOVE this! The outlines in the glass are soooo beautiful. I am just imagining you with the children and my heart is dancing with you. Thank you for always making me smile. πŸ™‚

    1. It is my delight andmy deepest joy to find you here, sweet Krishnapriya…we are joined in seeking the One, in delight and my deepest joy to find you here, sweet Krishnapriya…we are joined in bringing whispers out of the mist…even as we are joined in seeking the One…in bringing Love Divine into the world. Thank you for your sweet, sweet company on this journey! Blessings and much, much love to you!

      1. Thank you sweet Joan. Likewise from my side too. Somehow the way you connect the simple, innocent every day moments with the sublime – really speaks to my heart. That is how i feel too – though it causes me to doubt myself – i used to worry that a spiritual seeker must be serious! he!he! But now i know better πŸ™‚ i love the words “whispers out of the mist” – i will hold onto it in my heart till you write your next poem. πŸ™‚

  2. Oh the rains! Magical and mystical. I can picture you standing there watching the rain, happy! πŸ™‚

I am still compiling the list of books. It is not an easy task Joan πŸ˜€
