when the rains come at last
there is no mistaking what will happen
one person uncovers the cistern
he dug years ago against thirst
another brings out buckets
to place beneath the leaky roof
oh, let me be the one
Who opens windows and unlocks the door
who presses her face against the screen
inhaling the mist like life itself
let me gather my children
to trace raindrop outlines
upon the glass
to clap and dance with joy
for gardens yet to be
and for promises kept

My pleasure π. Blessings to you too
Beautiful Joan — i LOVE this! The outlines in the glass are soooo beautiful. I am just imagining you with the children and my heart is dancing with you. Thank you for always making me smile. π
It is my delight andmy deepest joy to find you here, sweet Krishnapriya…we are joined in seeking the One, in delight and my deepest joy to find you here, sweet Krishnapriya…we are joined in bringing whispers out of the mist…even as we are joined in seeking the One…in bringing Love Divine into the world. Thank you for your sweet, sweet company on this journey! Blessings and much, much love to you!
Thank you sweet Joan. Likewise from my side too. Somehow the way you connect the simple, innocent every day moments with the sublime – really speaks to my heart. That is how i feel too – though it causes me to doubt myself – i used to worry that a spiritual seeker must be serious! he!he! But now i know better π i love the words “whispers out of the mist” – i will hold onto it in my heart till you write your next poem. π
Oh the rains! Magical and mystical. I can picture you standing there watching the rain, happy! π
I am still compiling the list of books. It is not an easy task Joan π
Thank you for joining me at the window glass, marveling over raindrop outlines, sweet Pari! Blessings and love to you…and I look forward to your list, so grateful you are willing. It is a difficult challenge. *smiling heart*
