Aligned

this is the day
when the disc of the sun
aligns with our hallway

itโ€™s quite incredible
the one time a year
when the position of the sun

throws its light
over treetops across the street

into our front windows
at 5:44 pm
down the hall all the way to the bedroom

and I suddenly feel
like some kind of princess
risen from her Egyptian tomb

    1. Oh, you have me smiling with your sweet and playful remarks, my sweet, sweet Krishnapriya! So grateful you find my little poems worth reading, so very delighted to share them and this path of wonder with you, beloved friend! Blessings and hugs galore *smiling heart*

  2. When I was reading this, I felt I was a HOPI who was watching for the exact moment when I could let the tribe know it was now time to plant the corn. I love to read about how the sun is important in a variety of ways, to so man different histories and cultures.

    1. Thank you for commenting! Yes, isn’t it fascinating to consider how native peoples valued the sun and made it such a central part of their cultures, life and death, religion and planting…blessings and hugs to you, dear Linda!
