A Poem by Anna Kamienska

Funny

What’s it like to be a human
the bird asked

I myself don’t know
it’s being held prisoner by your skin
while reaching infinity
being a captive of your scrap of time
while touching eternity
being hopelessly uncertain
and helplessly hopeful
being a needle of frost
and a handful of heat
breathing in the air
and choking wordlessly
it’s being on fire
with a nest made of ashes
eating bread
while filling up on hunger
it’s dying without love
it’s loving through death

That’s funny said the bird
and flew effortlessly `up into the air

    1. Aww, what a compliment…thank youfor your kind remarks and constant companionship along this rocky shore…the path is smoothing out a bit here, but your sweet, steady friendship is always appreciated. Much, much loveand sweet blessings to you *willows in sunrise**children dancing in flowery garden**sunflowers reaching for the sun*

      1. May it get better and better – easier and smoother, by the Grace of the One, who overlooks, plans and showers love upon us each moment, in ways we see and feel and then again in way we miss. My prayers for your blessed day!

  1. Thank you, my beloved friend…even in the glistening of my tears, my soul smiles at the many blessings, the shower for which your “umbrella of grace” is also a pool to contain them allMay we dance together in the Garden of the One whose blooms are ever-appearing!.

  2. A profound poem
    Full of depth
    delving on the razor’s edge
    Of humanity …
    In uncertainty and hope!
    Great poem share Joan.
Striking lines … being hopelessly uncertain
    and helplessly hopeful!
    Much love and goodwill.
